Importance of Attendance in the Workplace

Maintaining great attendance is crucial to help you do well as an employee as well as allows you to be in good standing with your employer. Being present and on time helps you strengthen your work credibility and work history. If you are absent or tardy consistently it could affect your current employment and hinder any future job opportunities.

Attendance not only affects you, but it can create extra work for your co-workers and put a burden on your employer.

Preparation is key.  Be sure to have a backup plan for any transportation and child care needs.  Make sure you have your required safety protective equipment, time card or name badge.

Prepare for your shift or workday the day before.  Allow yourself enough time to get ready and leave for work on time. It is also ideal, that you show up ready for work about 15 minutes early to get settled and be more productive.
